Did You Know?

There are 26 bones in each foot, but only 204 bones in the entire body.

The foot is a complex structure made up 33 joints, 107 ligaments, and 19 muscles and tendons.

According to the American Podiatric Medical Association, most Americans log 75,000 miles on their feet by the time they reach the age of 50.

A 150-pound person walking one mile exerts the equivalent of 63-1/2 tons -- 127,000 pounds -- on each foot!

15 percent of people with diabetes will experience a foot ulcer and between 14 and 24 percent of those with a foot ulcer will require amputation. Each year, more than 86,000 amputations are performed among people with diabetes.

Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis, affecting an estimated 20.7 million adults in the United States, mostly after age 45. It primarily affects the joint cartilage. It usually affects the weight-bearing joints, such as the feet.

We demand a lot from our feet, and when they hurt, it affects every aspect of our lives. You don't have to accept foot pain as a normal aspect of life.
